An essay collection about encounters in a world where the usual rules of everyday life seem to fall away—sex through dating apps, cruising spots, and intimate encounters with strangers whose names I never knew in clubs deep underground. The stories are drawn from my own experiences, with a touch of fiction woven in.
I think many of us have, at some point, been swept up in our desires or quietly carry memories of a slightly unhinged period in our lives.
As someone who has long documented everyday life through illustrated diaries, I wanted to turn my gaze toward these stranger, more unruly fragments of my life too—to draw them, look back on them, and find some curiosity and humor in them.
